Preface

Nowadays the city constructions anywhere show their colourful charm and specific style. If you have opportunity to travel you may fi nd that no matter the small towns of the south China or the big cities of north, no matter the old capital of the west or the new cities of the east, the city construction of China is going on the track of sound progress and highlight the charming humanistic characteristics.

No dout it is the artists who can present all the construction results. Fu Yingdong , the young photographer from Linyi just does such an instructive thing.

As we know Linyi is a famous old revolutionary region. Now Linyi has casted off the poverty and backwardness and has developed into a mordern commercial and trade city known all over the world. Specially in the urban construction and treatment of the rivers Linyi is advanced and has got the honors such as China Human Living Environment Model Prize, National Civiled City, National Garden City,etc.

Three years ago Mr. Fu Yingdong has compiled the book Splendid Linyi which gave me a strong stike and which I made a preface for. Now Mr. Fu ask me to make the freface again for his new photographing work City Rhyme of Linyi presenting the development of Linyi city construction. After I read the the sample manuscript I was drawed and shocked again by the beautiful photoes and the city development it appears.It is a really big shock that Linyi has changed so much in such short period of time. The book records the brilliant achivement of Linyi city contruction in the past 30 years since the reform and opening up to the outside world and indicates the glory and dream of Yimeng Area people. It also embodies the Yimeng Spirits. Mr. Fu Yingdong spent 15 years and recorded the every aspect of the city construction with his camera lens . Now the works apears and gives the chance to everyone to understand Linyi. This is really a happy thing.

Thanks to the city constructors of Linyi, Thanks to Mr. Fu yingdong. We have every reason to look forward to a more beautiful tomorrow of Linyi city.
