A lot of key projects have been completed such as North urban area, Suhe River Area, Linyi Economic Development Area, Linyi Commercial City, Liyi University, etc. The population of the built-up district increaed from 905 thousand of 2005 to 1720 thousand of 2011, the area of the built-up district increased from 109 square kilometers of 2005 to 173 square kilometers of 2011. Linyi city has appeared its characteristics of city of water, capital of commerce and state of culture. A warter-front ecological livable city with blue sky , green land, clear water, clean streets, smooth traffic,bright lights, beautiful buildings lays before the people.
