Personal life
Musk was born in South Africa, and he lived mostly with his father in locations in South Africa. He taught himself computer programming and at age 12 sold the computer code for a video game called Blastar for $500. Musk moved to Canada in 1988 at age 17, after obtaining（得到）Canadian citizenship through his mother.
In 1995, aged 24, Musk moved to California to begin a Ph.D in Applied physics at Stanford, but left the program after two days to pursue his entrepreneurial aspirations（愿望）in the areas of the Internet, renewable（再生性）energy and outer space.

Career
In 1995, Musk started Zip2, a web software company. The company developed and marketed an Internet “city guide” for the newspaper publishing industry. In March 1999, Musk co-founded X.com, an online financial services and e-mail payment company. One year later, the company merged with（合并）Confinity, which had a money transfer service called PayPal.
With $100 million of his early fortune, Musk founded his third company, Space Exploration Technologies, or SpaceX, in June 2002. Space X develops and manufactures（制成品）space launch vehicles with a focus on advancing the state of rocket technology. Tesla Motors was co-founded by Martin Eberhard, Marc Tarpenning, JB Straubel and Ian Wright in 2003. A year later Elon Musk invested in the company and became Chairman. Musk provided the initial（最初的）concept for Solar City, which is now the second largest provider of solar power systems in the United States.

The first you need to work, if you, depending on how well you want to do, particularly if you're starting a company, you need to work super hard, so what does super hard mean?
The other thing I'll say is that, if you're creating a company or if you're joining a company the most important thing is to attract great people. So either join a group that's amazing that you respect or if you're building a company, you've got a gather great people.
And then the final thing is don't just follow the trends. It's good to think in terms of the physics approach from first principles（原则）, which is rather than reasoning by analogy（类比）, you boil things down to the most fundamental truths you can imagine and you reason up from there. This is a good way to figure out if something really make sense or it's just whatever somebody else is doing.
