Comments and Annotations
Luo Binwang (appr. 640—appr. 684) was one of the Four Distinguished Poets of the Tang Dynasty. His poetry is known for its vigorous style.
This rhyme, created by Luo Binwang when he was a little child, is on the lips of billions of children. It vividly depicts how the goose gaggles while swimming in the limpidity.
To appreciate the aesthetics of the song better, the reader may refer to the following version:
Goose, goose and goose
Gaggle skyward from their bent necks.
White feathers float on green water,
Red feet paddle and leave ripples.
(郭著章, 2010: 2)
