The Emperor Wen of Han Dynasty Missing Li Mu
Li Mu, a general of Zhao in late Warring States Period, was an expert in tactics. During the reign of King Huiwen, Li Mu led the troops to guard the northern border. He defeated the Hun troops, gained many victories, and won the respect of the troops.
In 233 B.C., the King of Qin dispatched troops to attack Chili and Yi'an.Li Mu commanded the army, launched a counterattack and achieved great triumph. Because of the victories, he got the title as Lord of Wu'an.
The next year, Qin troops went across Taihang Mountain to invade Fanwu and were defeated by him once more.
In order to unify the world, Qin State waged wars. After extinguishing Han State, Qin started to attack Zhao. Li Mu and Sima Shang led the troops to intercept the enemies and were locked in a stalemate for one year. Qin bribed a treacherous Minister Guo Kai of Zhao State and made a false charge again him of rebellion. Then, Li Mu was killed.
When Emperor Wen of Han Dynasty was trapped in Xiongnu's invasion, he once said if he could get Lian Po and Li Mu as generals, the miseries of Xiongnu would be relieved.
