过去分词作条件状语时，其作用相当于条件状语从句，有时前面带when, once等从属连词。如：
Given more attention (=If they are given more attention), the trees can grow fast．如果多加照料，这些树会长得很快。
If painted white (=If it is painted white), the house will look larger．如果涂成白色，这所房子会显得大一些。
Visitor: Take me to the sixteenth floor.
Lift operator: We don't have a sixteenth floor. This building is only fifteen stories high.
Visitor: Okay, then, take me up to the eighth floor twice.
