现在分词作原因状语时，其作用相当于原因状语从句。如：
Being tired and sleepy (=As he was tired and sleepy), he went to bed very early．因为又累又困，他早早上床睡觉了。
Knowing English well (=Since he knows English well), he translated the article without a dictionary．由于英语掌握得好，他翻译这篇文章没用词典。
A woman comes to a store and asks for a chain saw (手持小型电锯) that will cut 6 trees in one hour.
The next day she brings it back, complaining that it would only cut down one tree and it took all day.
The salesman takes the chain saw, starts it up to see what's wrong, and the woman says, “What's that noise?”
