Tips accelerate是及物动词，可接具体名词或抽象名词作宾语，如：accelerate paces,accelerate sb's departure。

accuse　v. 指控，控告，谴责

Tips accuse的最大考点在于与介词的搭配，accuse一般与介词of搭配，可以用于被动语态结构中，如：be accused of a crime。

acclaim　v.&n. 欢呼，称赞

When the merger was completed, all the employees started acclaiming.

当传来合并完成的消息时，所有的员工都开始欢呼。

Tips acclaim在考试中一般只作及物动词，后面可接由as或as to be短语作的补足语，如：acclaim him as / as to be the monitor。

acquire　v. 取得，获得，学到

The top matter is to acquire the company's internal data.

当务之急是要找到那家公司的内部资料。

Tips acquire是及物动词，其后的宾语一般为抽象名词，如acquire experience，也可以接双宾语，如：His behavior acquired him a good impression。

acquisition　n. 收购，获得

action　n. 行动，活动

They are expected to complete all acquisition actions within a week.

Tips action表示人的行为时，是可数名词，常与动词take连用，此时两者之间不加不定冠词，如：take actions。

actual　a. 实际的，真实的

aggregate　v. 合计 n. 合计，集料

Tips aggregate的动词和名词的含义一致，而且aggregate后常与介词to连用，其后常用数词作表语，如：aggregate to 100 dollars。

agree　v. 同意，赞成

I'm afraid the other side will not agree with you on this point.

恐怕在这一点上对方不会同意。

Tips agree在考试中主要用作不及物动词，考查与不同介词搭配的用法，如：agree with 同意某人的意见；agree on 商定某事；agree about就某事取得一致意见。

agreement　n. 同意，协议

If you have made a decision, sign the agreement.

如果你方做了决定，签了这份协议。

短语 agreement on 一致意见；mutual agreement 双方协定

alter　v. 改变，更改

I'm worried that they'll alter the terms before signing the agreement.

我很担心在签协议前他们会修改条件。

attain　v. 达到，得到，获得

We disdain the use of trickery to attain our goal.

我们不屑于使用诡计来达到目的。

Tips attain主要用作及物动词，其后直接接名词或代词作宾语，作不及物动词时，其后要跟介词to，介词的宾语多为抽象名词，如：attain to power。

attorney　n. 代理人，律师

你方的代理律师全权负责此次的合并行动吗？

Tips attorney是美式英语，主要指处理法律事务的律师，比如处理遗嘱等。

bankruptcy　n. 破产，倒闭

condition　n. 条件，情况

Tips condition作“条件”解时是可数名词，如create a condition；作“疾病，情况”解时是不可数名词，如running condition。

contemplate　v. 沉思，考虑

Considering our strength, we have to carefully contemplate the feasibility of merging.

考虑到我们的实力，我们需要仔细考虑合并的可行性。

continue　v. 继续

After a short break, we continued to engage in the transfer of shares.

enforce　v. 强迫，坚持，执行

His studio was enforced to be merged into the head office.

You should ensure that we have the half right of words.

你要确保我们有一半的话语权。

Tips ensure后的that从句可以是陈述语句，也可以用虚拟语气。如：ensure that you should work on time。

fail　v. 失败

I'm sorry I failed to consider the funds into the plan.

Tips fail是一个常见动词，在考试中常常考查其词组fail to的用法，表示“没有做……，……失败了”。

failure　n. 失败，失败者

Their attempt to ask the company to transfer the ownership is a real failure.

headway　n. 进展

The boss calls to ask the headway of the coalition every day.
