Baota: far and near
You rise straight up on the mountaintop, and I stand quietly on the flat ground
People all rush to the mountaintop, to
Climb high, eagerly to recognize every brick, every floor, every tile of yours
Dear pagoda, I will not go any farther
I am standing here, in distance, watching you silently
So far from you, the sight is indeed a bit blurred
Between us, there are flowing river, beach, the overlapping footprints of the loess road
And the dust made by people, they float and fall, or fall and float
Just like the days coming out of life
I am seeing you from far place, it is a tree looking at you
A grass looking at you, a land admiring you
I look at you silently in a tree's style, in a grass's style
I am honest, humble, industrious, leading a spring doing the Yangko dance
Slowly coming to you, around you, greening with you
Silently standing in the distance and watching you, suddenly I find it is the mountain that lifts you up
It's the earth that raises the mountain up
And we are a tree, a grass or a plant planted in the earth
An extended horizon brings us under the same blue sky
We grow, thrive or pass away, embracing this home tightly
