3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions are applicable to this standard.
3.0.1 Liquid ammonia unloading compressor
Equipment for liquid ammonia transfer between a liquid ammonia tanker and an ammonia storage tank or between ammonia storage tanks.
3.0.2 Ammonia storage tank
A pressure vessel for liquid ammonia storage.
3.0.3 Liquid ammonia transfer pump
A pump for transferring liquid ammonia at low temperature.
3.0.4 Ammonia evaporator
Equipment for converting liquid ammonia into gaseous ammonia.
3.0.5 Gaseous ammonia buffer tank
A tank for reducing the pressure surge of gaseous ammonia user by the volume of the gaseous ammonia vessel.
3.0.6 Dilution fan
A fan providing air for dilution and mixing of gaseous ammonia.
3.0.7 Air dilution heater
Equipment for preheating the air entering gaseous ammonia/air mixer.
3.0.8 Ammonia/air mixer
A device for mixing(diluting)ammonia and air sufficiently.
3.0.9 Ammonia injection grid
A grid for evenly injecting the diluted ammonia from ammonia/air mixer into flue gas duct.
3.0.10 Static mixer
A device installed at the reactor inlet duct to mix gaseous ammonia/air mixture with high temperature flue gas sufficiently.
3.0.11 SCR reactor
A device to remove nitrogen oxides from flue gasfrom boiler by Selective Catalytic Reduction(SCR)Process.
3.0.12 Catalyst
The materials for accelerating reduction reaction between ammonia and NOx in flue gas.
3.0.13 Sampling fan
A device for collecting flue gas from SCR reactor inlet or outlet,sending it to the analyzer room and returning the analyzed flue gas to SCR reactor inlet.
3.0.14 Waste gaseous ammonia dilution tank
A tank for absorbing waste gaseous ammonia by spraying water.
3.0.15 Shower and eye washer
Effective protective equipment that can wash off any ammonia sprayed or spattered on body,face or eyes quickly so as to minimize the hazard.
