3　Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions are applicable to this Specification.

3.1　Material Handling

A generic term of loading/unloading，conveying，storage，crushing，screening，drying，cooling，pelletizing，homogenization，blending，metering，packaging and palletizing systems used forpowders and bulk solids.

3.2　Stockyard

An unroofed yard to store bulk，bagged and drummed raw materials（fuels）or products.

3.3　Warehouse

A semi-unroofed or enclosed house to store bulk，bagged and drummed raw materials（fuels）or products.

3.4　Homogenization

A process to uniformly mix several materials of same category but with different quality indicators.

3.5　Blending

A process to blend off-spec product into on-spec product and then homogenize the mixture to obtain the product with acceptable quality grade for marketing.
