Agile

If you haven't read the original Manifesto for Agile Software Development, start there. A true Agile practitioner will exhibit and demonstrate the four underpinning values:

  • Individuals and interactions, over processes and tools
  • Working software, over comprehensive documentation
  • Customer collaboration, over contract negotiation
  • Responding to change, over following a plan

To enact these values, Agile has evolved and developed a number of widely accepted, practical methods. To practice, these methods do not necessarily mean you are a true Agile practitioner. But a true Agile practitioner will certainly understand and is most likely to practice a number of them:

I'll pick out three key concepts and practices in Agile that I believe are the most important and practical for our discussion here.
