SUMMARY
This book contains two parts: theory and application. The theoretical part introduces the history, development, research and problems of constructed wetland, which was mainly based on the description of the history of constructed wetland for water purification, and the pollutants (organic matter, nitrogen, phosphorus and heavy metals) removal mechanism in constructed wetland. We also put forward two kinds of combination methods of micro-electric field or microbial fuel cell in constructed wetland with the aim of to improve the water treatment efficiency. The application part introduces the combination of biofilm-electrode and constructed wetland system for the purification wastewater with a characteristic of low C/N ratio; and the use of micro-electric field coupled with constructed wetland on the removal of heavy metal from wastewater was evaluated; the effect of different electrode materials, influent concentrations, filler size, plant types on the wastewater treatment in microbial fuel cell coupled with constructed wetland system was compared. Finally, this book also introduces the application of constructed wetland-microbial fuel cell based on the optimized factors of above into the domestic sewage treatment.
This book could be used as the technical manual for researchers focused on the use of constructed wetland for water purification.
