灵山脚下，夜宿农家，1958

山间小路花无语，

崖上青藤，

多谢浮云送一程。

夜来风紧秋离去，

一盏油灯，

地上虫声，

积雪几层？

错把三更作五更。

灵山是北京市最高峰，位于门头沟区，海拔2300米。

On the country road wild fl owers bloom quiet,

Ivies crawl the cliff up,

Insects on the ground chirp,

So kind are fl oating winds escorting my trip.

Tight wind hastens away autumn overnight,

By the oil lamp,

How many layers is the snow deep?

I mistake the third watch for fifth in my sleep.

Situated in Mentougou district, the 2300-meter-high Lingshan Mountain is the highest peak in Beijing.
