Abstract

Growth factors,as a type of polypeptide,is essential for cell proliferation and differentiation,and play an important role in cell proliferation,tissue regeneration and so on.When the body was in jury,the secretion of endogenous growth factor can not meet the repair of the injured tissue.To some extent,the administration of exogenous growth factors promote the repair of the tissue and shorten healing time.Although some growth factors were useful for tissue regeneration,some limitations were also existed in clinical practice simultaneously.The degradation rate of growth factors was too fast to produce effective function on wound so that the action time was very short.Clinically,multiple high-dose administration methods were used for tissue regeneration.The utilization of growth factor was very low and resulting in waste seriously.Growth factors repairing faced a security and cost-effective issues.This article focuses on the application of some biomimetic biomaterials combined with growth factors in various tissue engineering.Firstly,hydrogel scaffold with three-dimensional structure was introduced which was possessed on excellent biocompatibility and hydrophilic properties,that can be widely used in regenerative medicine.Growth factors packaged in hydrogels had a good sustained release effect.Thereafter,electrospinning nanofibers also have good pore structure and excellent mechanical properties,and it can also simulate the microenvironment of extracellular matrix with cells can easy live.And the electrospinning scaffold of blood vessels was widely well-known in tissue engineering,and the three-dimensional structure of the fiber network can be modified multiply,included modification with various growth factors,and it can also prolong the drug release.In addition,another biological material nanoparticle was also widely used in tissue engineering.It can bind growth factors and other drugs on the surface through electrostatic adsorption,covalent attachment,or directly encapsulates protein molecules inside the particles,and then passed through the target molecule.It binds to cell surface-specific receptors and enters cells within cellular uptake to achieve safe and effective targeted drug delivery and gene therapy.However,polymer modifications such as growth factor proteins can be performed directly,such as polymer PEG,zwitterionics,etc.,and growth factors can be modified to these polymers by chemical bond sites,and it can increase the stability of the protein and extend the effect of the factor release time.Finally,we also discuss the combination of inorganic materials and some antibacterial materials with during application of growth factors.This is also the application trends of such biological materials in the development of tissue engineering.
