1.2　Purpose of Guide

This guide has two main purposes.

a）Provide background information and an introduction to Quality Management and convincing evidence that member firms must，as a matter of survival，adopt Quality Management practices，and

b）Provide interested member firms with an outline of what steps to follow to initiate the development of a Quality Management process for their company.

The Guide is also intended to stimulate discussion on various related Quality Management issues such as certification so that FIDIC can initiate the appropriate discussion and committee work to address these issues.
