Jenny: Well, reading comics is not only fun. It's a serious hobby for many people.
Tom:How come?
Jenny:Some people never grow out of reading comics.
Tom:You're kidding, right?I thought comics were for babies.
Jenny: Some are. Some aren't. I remember reading comics in the newspaper when I was 5,I kept reading comics into my teens.
Tom:Come to think of it,some people have valuable collections of comics.
Jenny:And if they're first editions, they're sometimes quite valuable. Tom:I must admit,I do watch cartoons.
Jenny:Tom&Jerry?
Tom:Yes.I'm a little embarrassed.Please don't tell anyone.
Jenny: Actually, I think those characters are quite clever and interesting. You know, cartoons can often express things better than movies. Characters in cartoons and comics can do things that real people can't. That's why they're so popular with all age groups.
Tom: Wow, I feel much better about watching cartoons and reading comics now.
Jenny: You mean watching anime and reading graphic novels, don't you? That's what teenagers do.
Tom:Right!Of course!Anime and graphic novels. What was I thinking? Cartoons and comics are for babies.
