1. I seldom…anymore

释 not often anymore 我很少再……

例 I seldom see them anymore.

2. I don't go out of my way

释 I don't go the extra mile/I don't do anything extra 我不费心/费神

例 I don't go out of my way for people who don't respect me.

对不尊重我的人，我不怎么费心。

3. deal mostly with

释 have to do with 大部分与……有关，主要与……交往

例 I deal mostly in art.

我做的大多是艺术品生意。

4. glued to

释 stuck to (figure) 不愿离开，盯住不放

例 Every time I see you, you're glued to the TV.

Jenny:I seldom watch cartoons anymore.I mean,I don't go out of my way to watch them.They're a little silly.

Tom: So what do you watch then?

Jenny:I watch anime and any movies with CGI,like Avatar.

Tom: Yeah.I've seen them.They deal mostly with teenage issues. Kids are glued to them.They read them all day long.

Jenny: Yeah. I know people who really crave them. Sometimes they can be a little dark, but that's what teenagers want these days.

Tom: I know what you mean. Brooding characters with deep dark secrets. Who's your favorite anime character?

Jenny: Keitaro Urashima, because he's invincible.

珍妮：我很少再看卡通片了。我的意思是，我不会特地去看。卡通有点幼稚。

汤姆：那你看什么？

珍妮：我看日本动漫和那些有电脑三维动画的电影，比如《阿凡达》。

汤姆：是啊，我看过。它们大多跟青少年话题有关，孩子们很痴迷，整天都在读。

珍妮：是啊，我认识一些很痴迷成人漫画的人，有时这些内容会有点儿伤感，但这正是当下青少年想要的东西。

汤姆：我懂你的意思，性格阴郁，有不可告人的秘密。谁是你最喜欢的动漫角色？

珍妮：浦岛景太郎，因为他战无不胜。

受中国传统文化的影响以及不同地区经济文化发展现状的制约，我国的酒吧文化与西方还是有很大差异的。在西方，酒吧文化是其文化的一个重要组成部分和表现形式。酒吧是大部分西方人进行社交、娱乐和饮食的场所。在西方的酒吧里，人们相互之间无须考虑各自的社会地位、等级和礼仪问题，只要举止得体，就符合基本的交往准则。与西方不同的是，酒吧文化在中国表现出“精英化”和“美学化”的现象，这主要是因为在中国，酒吧的消费相对来说比较高。在中国，经常去泡吧的人主要是在华的外籍人士、留学生、本国的生意人、白领阶层、艺术家、大学生、娱乐圈人士及有经济能力的社会闲散人士等。
