Abstract: Both diversity and convergence exist in the common language between two sides of the Taiwan Strait. On the aspect of convergence, focusing on the Mainland, there are two phases: the introduction phase and the close to saturation phase. While in Taiwan, the two phases are the derogatory introduction phase and the neutral introduction phase, and there is an obvious development process from quoting to absorbing. Initially the convergence showed an M-to-T tendency. And it has now achieved a basic balance. Putonghua and Taiwan Mandarin are currently in a positive two-way interaction.
