冬至日，偕赵辉杰、马雍

散步从沙滩到安定门外，1951

盼到雪停时，

落叶埋尘土，

歩出城门缓缓行，

谈笑河边路。

旧友与新知，

共赏冬青树。

偶见寒天北雁来，

飞过无寻处。

注：

旧友指赵辉杰，新知指刚结识的马雍。

—On Winter Solstice Day, walking with Zhao Huijie and Ma Yong from Shatan to Andingmenwai, 1951

When snow stopped in time due,

And dust fallen leaves covered,

Slowly walked we out of the city gate,

Talking and laughing along the riverside.

Friend old and acquaintance new,

Together the evergreens we admired.

Haply a wild goose fl ew across the sky cold,

Leaving no trace in its glide.

Note:

Old friend refers to Zhao Huijie, and new acquaintance is Ma Yong.
